Look just  behind the sailors right arm. I have a fellow feeling for this bloke as I was once in a similar situation myself. Our Venoms were going to the bombing range and I was at the side of the runway watching them take of. As one reached take off speed one of its bombs fell off the bombrack and came bouncing up the runway towards me. I have no recollection of the next few seconds, as the next thing I knew I was lying down behind the nearest solid object. The bomb eventually came to rest without exploding, just as well as the solid object I was sheltering behind turned out to be  a bomb trolley loaded with bombs. “We will all go together when the big bang comes along”, as Tom Lehrer used to sing. I suppose I would not have felt a thing .
NB:-The photographer had a steady nerve don’t you think??

ROYSTON VASEY NOTES & NEWS
Master Li’s new Steampowered Rocket Gloves not only powered him up to tremendous altitudes but promised to keep his hands nice and warm in the winter months ahead. In contrast to certain recent overhyped events he broke the Sound Barrier going UPWARDS.

TRIKE
On our trip to the Yorkshire Farming Museum Master Li was telling me about this most amazing trike that the lads on “American Chopper” had built. He’s just sent me the link and it is a most astounding bit of craftmanship that stands out like a Diamond in a seam of clay amid todays mass produced trash.————————-More HERE
Incidentally the M62 had a 50 mph speed limit and Average Speed cameras so we were not able to use the rocket booster on the Breadvan as a 5 second burst would have meant limping at 5 mph until we got to the next camera. It dried out our corner of the car park at the Museum nicely. Pictures of Museum visit later.

ROYSTON VASEY NOTES AND NEWS
When I went up The Shed the other day , I got there just as Li and fellow members of The Royston Vasey Amateur Rocket Association were launching their latest. After his experience in November when the roof of his Pyrotechnics Shed came in contact with a 747 letting down for Manchester airport, Li seems a lot more cautious and the launch took place as far from The Shed as possible, in fact at the other side of the wall of Li’s field in Zebediah Hinchliffe’s field. If you look just to the left of the rocket you will see on the horizon Victoria tower on Castle Hill and beyond it the Emley Moor television mast where the balloon trip finished last week.

Now if I were given a redundant stainless steel bidet I think the last thing I would think of converting it into would be a rocket propelled Go-Kart. Other minds think differently. Thanks to Master Li for picture

ROYSTON VASEY NOTES AND NEWSEaster Bunny at Rocket Launch
Master Li entered fully into the spirit of Easter by having his assistant Zara LaSalle  dress in a Bunny Girl outfit for the launch of his Easter Rocket which when it reached altitude showered mini Easter eggs on the children waiting below.  A scientific discovery arising from this was how hard a mini Easter egg can hit a child when falling from 3000 feet. Hard hats will be compulsary next Easter.
