Local men play key roles BBC Costume Drama.
After many requests from the Royston Vasey area the BBC have produced a Corset Drama. We are pleased to inform our readers the Mr A.CPitt-Rivers and Dr Bradbury-Winter of the Royston Vasey Corset Museum are to be Corset Consultants for the production to be called ‘Material Girl’. Also Mrs Maris Piper says that Kinky Korsets of Holmfirth will be supplying many of the corsets used in the production.

Tindink has passed this to me to give to the Royston Vasey Corset Museum. Apparently the name Kinky Korsets has only been in use since Maris Piper took over but the shop itself has sold corsetry since before the Holmfirth flood as this picture shows. Just look at those tiny waists.

The curator, Mr A.C.Pitt-Rivers received this from an Mrs Maris Piper of Kinky Korsets of Holmfirth as a sample of the latest in corsetware. After consulting with fellow trustee, Dr Bradbury-Winter, they decided it would go in the newly opened Steampunk Section.

The inventor and patentee, Tindink Van de Graff, will be in the shop on Tuesday next to advise customers old and new on it’s special features.

National Collection lends to local museum.
The Victoria and Albert Museum has lent The Royston Vasey Corset Museum a number of items from its collection. To mark the occasion the curator, Mr A,C.Pitt-Rivers and trustee, Dr Bradbury Winter have arranged for Mrs Maris Piper to model some garments for the occasion. Mrs Maris Piper is the owner of Kinky Korsets in Holmfirth and the wife of Mr Peter Piper, MD of Piper’s Pickle Factory. Mr Pipers ancestory goes straight back to the Peter Piper of Pickled Peppers fame. The event is sponsored by the Dreadnaught Corset Co and the pictures are by Mr Jack Fox-Talbot, our staff photographer.
